Our second race of the year was at Madison International Speedway and we were ready to take on The “Ring of Fire.” Our first practice went really well as we beat our fast lap time from our previous time at this track. We refrained from all other practices to save our clutch for qualifying, the heat race and feature event. We ended up qualifying third which is where we started in the heat race. We were able to pass for second place and chase down a fast Jamie Domski and even run my fastest lap time ever. Unfortunately we couldn’t quite complete the pass on Jamie but did finish the race with a second place finish! When the feature race began, the track was quite slippery due to the fact that oil dry was laid out all over the track from a previous accident, resulting in many drivers to spin in treacherous turn 4 including me. I spun on lap 2 which sent me to the back of the field. Over the course of the next 18 laps, I was able to work my way back up to second and try to fight for the win against @alexertmann100. We ended up with a second place finish despite the spin on lap 2. Congrats to @alexertmann100 on a hard fought victory! Catch theCentral States Region Super Cups @dellsracewaypark on June 16! @ Madison International Speedway.
