Just missed a top 5 finish this past Friday for the Jake Bradley Memorial.
Before we could even make a lap at speed during practice, our fuel pump took a crap on us. We also ended up replacing a broken control arm. Therefore, we missed both practices.
We went into qualifying not exactly sure of what we had and ended up qualifying a 16.420 which was only 0.027 seconds slower than the feature winner of the evening. We just barely missed the invert for the feature. We fell back to 12th at one point and made it up to 5th coming to the white flag until we were put 3 wide in the middle as I was making a pass on the outside car. We finished the race p6.
The car felt very speedy in long runs. Track position seems to be a key at this point in the season.
I’d like to thank Matt Clemens and Clemens Racing as usual for all their help and support. I’d also like to give Matt a huge shoutout for driving his tail off in his dirt debut at Sycamore last night. He started 16th and was running well inside the top 10 until his radiator cap blew off. Overall, a solid weekend for K5 Motorsports and Clemens Racing.
