Very busy night for us at the Grundy County Speedway this past Friday night. We attempted our first ever double duty night between the Super Cup and the Mid Am.

We got the super cup pretty quick but didn’t have enough time throughout the day to make the other changes we wanted. The car was not too fond of the bumps on the track.

We finished 5th in the fast heat in the super cup and realized we had some decent speed on the high side. We rolled off 8th out of 18 cars for the 30 lap feature event. We worked our way to first after a few laps and lead the way for quite some time. We ended up finishing p4 in the super cup. A few more tweaks and we definitely had a winning car. Not too shabby for 2 years out of the car and 4 year old tires. We’re extremely honored that TC Smith gave us the opportunity to run one of his cars on such a special night for him and the Midwest Super Cup Series. We had a car capable of great speed and we’re very grateful for that.

For the Mid Am, we were 5th fastest after first practice and decided we were happy with it. I absolutely whiffed in qualifying so I missed the invert. We finished 2nd in the heat with a pretty good car. We rolled off 9th for the feature and ended up finishing 9th. We made some passes and shuffled around through the pack quite a bit. We had a very big push through the center of the turn all race and the car just went away on us at the end of the run. No biggie, we’ll get her fast for next week.

Thank you to Matt Clemens and Clemens Racing as usual!
