Pretty up and down night at the Grundy County Speedway this past Friday night. We ended up setting our best time in qualifying this year which was something I was trying to focus on moving forward.
We started 2nd in the heat and the car didn’t quite feel the same as it did throughout the day. We ended up blowing a left front shock but ended up finishing 5th in the heat race.
For the feature, we threw a new setup at the car and started 11th. We had competitive race times for the first half of the feature. There were a lot of spins and accidents that I thankfully avoided throughout the race. Unfortunately, on one of those restarts, the rear of the car just snapped loose on me and I caught the wall. I brought the car in the pits to have it checked out. I Ended up losing a few laps there, but still finished 10th after numerous accidents among other drivers. We have some work to do on the car, but we’ll see what we got. It was a good week of lessons for me as a driver.
Huge Thank you to Clemens Racing for all the hard work throughout the night and getting me back on track after my wall incident. Thank you to all of my family who came out to support me in the stands.
And another big thank you to:
