It was a pretty fun Friday night at the Grundy County Speedway. It was great seeing all the fans for the on track autograph night!

We got the car pretty quick in practice but still have been fighting overheating issues.

For qualifying, I was shown the checkered flag after only one lap of qualifying when everyone else got 2, so I didn’t quite get the lap I wanted to. With that, for the first feature, we started near the tail of the field but our car came in really nice as the race went on. We were running down the pack in front of us as our tires came in. We ended up finished 10th out of 16 cars for the first feature.

For the second feature, we didn’t make any major adjustments to the car since it felt so good in the first feature. Unfortunately, as the sun went down, the car didn’t quite handle the same and I battled very loose conditions throughout the race. We still ended up 9th in the second feature.

Overall, we learned some things and continue to learn this car as the year progresses. Thank you so much to Matt Clemens and Clemens Racing for all their help despite having to be at Milwaukee early the following morning. You guys are the best!

Another huge thank you to all my family and girlfriend, Steph, for coming out to support me. You guys are also the best! It was great having you all there!
